Situated on a narrow wedge of land between neighbours, this home reimagines the traditional family house, designed instead for multigenerational living and flexible occupation. Moving beyond a conventional four-bedroom layout, it offers diverse options for extended family and visitors while maintaining cohesion, intimacy, and connection to its surroundings.
Elevated above the front yard, layered steps and platforms create a welcoming entrance while preserving privacy. The main living spaces links front and rear yards, with parking and service areas discreetly tucked below. Four adaptable rooms accommodate owners, grandchildren, guests, and independent living, while a central terrace frames the garden, bringing the landscape into daily life.
Simplicity of form, robust materials, and careful orientation enable year-round indoor-outdoor living. A finely resolved landscape, custom fittings and sustainable systems—including solar power, hydronic heating, and home automation—enhance performance and comfort. This home balances flexibility, intimacy, and connection, offering an enduring environment for an evolving family.
We found our amazing location, and once we met Sacha and Jaya, we knew their passion, creativity, and innovation would shape our forever place. Our vision was a home where three generations and friends could happily live together. Giving them creative freedom was important, and we were thrilled when they presented a design that was stunning, environmentally conscious, functional, and deeply thoughtful. Now we cherish early coffees on the front deck, reading to grandkids on the living room bench, afternoon swims, and ocean-breeze family dinners. Our home is a warm, inviting haven for an ever-growing family to enjoy.
